Underfloor heating has become very popular now resulting in them extremely cost-effective to install. When you consider the lower operating costs there are long-term savings to be gained. Our screeds are compatible with all types of underfloor heating systems, and we can work together with your underfloor heating installers to ensure a seamless installation takes place.
Screed historically have always been installed at 75mm to give the required strength but liquid screed is far superior allowing you to reduce the depth. This means the heat reaches the room quickly and with less screed to heat up this can lower heating bills.
The recommended depth for liquid screed going over underfloor heating is 40-50mm.
Thin Underfloor Heating Systems
There are many thin underfloor heating products available including electric. They are very expensive and do not allow for the right amount of floor insulation below.
Because there is no screed on top, there is no Thermal mass to heat, thus giving large fluctuations in temperature.
